First period

Miami 1, UND 0 -- Casey Gilling (Karch Bachman) 1:03. UND defenseman Ethan Frisch makes a no look pass behind the net, where no Fighting Hawk defenders were standing. Bachman picked it up, fed Gilling and he hammered it past UND goalie Adam Scheel. It's the third-straight Friday night that UND has allowed a goal in the opening 65 seconds of the game.

Miami 2, UND 0 -- Gordie Green (Karch Bachman) 1:29. Miami's top line scores a second goal on its first shift of the game. Bachman flies up the left side and shoots one that Scheel kicks to the slot. Green is there to clean up the rebound and put UND down by two goals just 89 seconds into the game.

Miami 2, UND 1 -- Westin Michaud (Jordan Kawaguchi, Matt Kiersted) 15:47 (pp). UND converts on its second power-play chance of the night. Kawaguchi has the puck at the right point and spots Michaud cutting to the net. Kawaguchi puts the puck on Michaud's tape and the senior forward finishes it.

Miami 3, UND 1 -- Casey Gilling (Karch Bachman, Rourke Russell) 17:10. Miami answers as a puck in the neutral zone jumps over the stick of Andrew Peski, sending Miami on a two-on-one rush. Gilling takes the shot himself from the left circle and beats Scheel on the stick side.

Miami 3, UND 2 -- Grant Mismash (Jordan Kawaguchi) 17:27. UND answers just 17 seconds later to cut the RedHawk lead to one. Skating on a rush up the left side, Kawaguchi makes a nifty feed to get the puck through a Miami defender and to Mismash cutting to the net. Mismash finishes it off.

Note: Peter Thome replaces Adam Scheel in net to start the second period for UND.

Second period

Miami 3, UND 3 -- Jordan Kawaguchi (Matt Kiersted, Jacob Bernard-Docker) 7:23 (pp). UND gets a five-on-three power play for 1:09 and converts. Kiersted has the puck at the left point and makes a perfect seam pass to Kawaguchi in the bottom of the right circle. Kawaguchi finishes it. It's his third point of the game.

Third period

UND 4, Miami 3 -- Cole Smith (Gavin Hain) 15:52. Hain wins a battle along the boards in the defensive zone to start a two-on-one rush the other way. Hain feeds Smith cutting down the slot and the UND senior forward puts it underneath Miami goalie Ryan Larkin to give UND its first lead of the game.

UND 4, Miami 4 -- John Sladic (Casey Gilling, Karch Bachman) 17:25 (pp). Jasper Weatherby goes to the box with 3:08 left and Miami takes advantage to tie it on the power play. Gilling's point shot is blocked in front, but Sladic picks it up and whips a no-look backhand to the net that goes underneath Thome, who never saw it.

Pregame comments

UND appears to be confident in Jacob Bernard-Docker's health. Not only is he in the lineup and on the top pairing, UND's extra skater is a forward. . . UND will be without Shane Pinto (one-game suspension), Colton Poolman (injured), Zach Yon (injured). . . The Fighting Hawks have one win in their last four games in Oxford, but UND has won five straight on the road dating back to an Oct. 19 loss in Mankato.
