The Engineers narrowed the gap to 2-1 with a goal from Jakob Lee with a minute left in the first, assisted by Jack Agnew and Max Smolinski.
The Golden Griffins increased the lead to 3-1 within the first minute when Jackson Decker beat the goalie, assisted by Keaton Mastrodonato and Tyrell Buckley.
