2 Mavericks earn monthly honors from WCHA

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Two players from Minnesota State University Mankato have received monthly honors from the WCHA for October.

Dryden McKay

Dryden McKay, a sophomore from Downers Grove, Ill., has been named Goaltender of the Month. McKay went 4-0-1 with a .940 save percentage and 1.64 goals-against average in five starts in the month.

Lucas Sowder

Mavericks teammate Lucas Sowder, a forward from Trinity, Fla., was named Rookie of the Month. He had nine points and was a conference-leading plus-9 in six games.

Northern Michigan’s Vincent de Mey, a sophomore forward from Los Angeles, was named Forward of the Month. de Mey had six goals and two assists in six games for the Wildcats.

Bowling Green’s Alec Rauhauser, a senior from Bismarck, N.D., was named Defenseman of the Month. Rauhauser had seven points and seven blocks in seven games for the Falcons.

3 Lakers earn WCHA weekly honors

Three players from Lake Superior State have earned WCHA weekly honors.

Lake Superior State’s Ashton Calder, a sophomore from Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., was named Forward of the Week. Calder had two goals and three assists in a series sweep of Ferris State.

Calder’s teammate, Collin Saccoman, a senior from Stillwater, Minn., was named Defenseman of the Week. He had four points last weekend and has six goals and 10 points in 10 games this season.

Lake Superior State forward Louis Boudon, who is from Grenoble, France, was named Rookie of the Week. He had four points in last weekend’s series and has eight points in 10 games this season.

Alaska’s Anton Martinsson, a senior from Klippan, Sweden, was named Goaltender of the Week. Martinsson stopped 37 of 39 shots he faced in a 3-2 win over Bemidji State on Saturday. For the season, Martinsson is 3-2 with a .933 save percentage and 2.25 goals-against average in five games.
